Description
Bacteriostatic water for laboratory reconstitution. It is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative, so one multi-dose bottle can be used for several preparations. It is the standard diluent for dissolving lyophilized research peptides to a known concentration.

What Bacteriostatic Water is and how it's used.
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol slows microbial growth, so one 30 mL bottle can be used for several reconstitutions over its working life. Preservative-free sterile water, by contrast, is meant for single use. In the lab, you add the water slowly down the inside wall of a lyophilized peptide vial to dissolve the powder. The final concentration is the peptide mass divided by the volume of water you add.
