Description
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, supplied in a 30 mL multi-draw bottle. It is used as a diluent to reconstitute lyophilized research peptides, and the preservative allows a single bottle to be drawn from more than once. Supplied strictly for laboratory use.

What Bacteriostatic Water is and how it's used.
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol slows microbial growth, so one 30 mL bottle can be drawn from more than once. Preservative-free sterile water, by contrast, is meant for a single use. To use it, add the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial so it runs onto the glass rather than straight onto the powder, then swirl gently instead of shaking. The final concentration is the peptide mass divided by the volume of water added.
